Quinte ToyCon

If you watched the Captain Cold sketchcard video before you are reading this you already knew my big news.

I'm going to have my first ever table at a convention selling art!  That's right,  the Quinte Toy Con on August 23rd will be my first outing as an artist!

I have already sold a few commissions privately but that had taken a lot  of advertising and run around for the most part unless I knew the buyer before. I'm hoping that this event will set me up for success at another which I will announce once I'm confirmed for it.

So if you live in the Belleville, Ontario area drop by my table on August 23rd and get some  art!

Sketchcard Captain Cold

Hey everyone,  this week with the number of videos I've been able to record,  and after listening to The Flash Podcast I put together this Captain Cold sketchcard!

I'm really loving being able to create these cars and it seems like people are really digging them that see them on Twitter.

Sketchcards

Hey everyone I know I have been away for a while but you know how life gets in the way of hobbies and all that. I'm happy to say that I am back and I've already recorded a bunch of videos for the coming weeks!

I spent last weekend at comicon in Toronto and spent way too much money on art and toys and things and it got m thinking about how I can somehow collect more art for a cheaper price and possibly sell a bit more of my own art.

Which brings me to sketchcards. I saw a few people selling these cards and I was intregued at the time but didn't get any. After I got home though I thought about how cool it would be to be able to go to the tables of the pros with little hockey card sized paper and ask for a sketch.   Most likely a lot of them would do something quick and much cheaper than their usual rates.

It also had me thinking about how I'm having a bit of a hard time selling to an unfocused audience on the local Facebook page and such, and these cards would offer a lower price point and a more highly collectable format which might be  interesting to more people.

And so, with a week of drawing a huge bristol board commission to think about it before starting out on the cards, I have drawn, inked and coloured my first batch of 9 cards!

Linked below is the first Wonder Woman card I've done!

If you are interested in buying any sketchcards,  just send me an email! themightychrispy@gmail.com and let me know, I plan to have a bit of an inventory list up soon. But I will take requests as well!

Harley Quinn 2

Hey everyone,  I know posts have been a bit sparse lately,  that's because we've been packing up to move.

This week's video was supposed to just be a bonus but due to time constraints it will have to do as the Saturday post,  I might be able to get another one up later but I thought this would be a good place to start.

If you have any ideas or suggestions for future videos let me know!

Wonder Woman

This week's video features Wonder Woman fighting!  I had a vote on Google+ weather I should draw this or a pinup style Catwoman, it ended as a tie so I did both!  Last week's video was the Catwoman one, and now this one.
I hope you enjoy it!

Drawing Batgirl

Hey everyone!  It's Saturday and that means another drawing video.

This weeki chose Batgirl to draw because I thought that this month was gOing to be the stay of the Cameron Stewart and Babs Tarr run on the book.  So i was a little disjointed when I went into the shop and it was Future's End!  I suppose that if I had been reading the weekly Future's End book I would have been up for that but I'm not.

Anyways check out the link below and tell me what you think!

A Quick Flash Drawing

Drawing, Inking and Colouring The Flash: http://youtu.be/OCM4Wmk3qYk

I got listening to theflashpodcast.com yesterday and in the few quiet moments I had while my newest little one was napping I did this drawing from start to finish.

I can understand now how guys like Greg Capullo can say they look at their work and only see flaws when it's done.  Some would argue that doesn't build good self esteem or something I would say that is a sign that you always want to improve.  Very rarely do I finish a piece and think ' oh yeah,  That's great! ' I'm usually thinking oh I like this bit but this other part needs work.  That's ok though I think.
